The Lasting Impact of Amineh Warrayat— A Designer Guided by Compassion

In the early winter of 2022, we lost a valued designer, friend, and community leader—Amineh Warrayat.

In the wake of Amineh’s absence and, hoping to preserve her legacy, that community-based designs should be thoughtfully integrated while reducing environmental impact, we have teamed with NOMA Arizona and the Warrayat Family to create the Amineh Warrayat Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship will provide financial assistance to a NOMA student member who shares Amineh’s belief that diversity within design schools is vital and will embody the spirit of NOMA Arizona’s core mission to empower underserved communities in Arizona.

Grief frequently compels us to explore the legacy of loved ones. We hope that Amineh’s legacy continues to motivate students from every background to build things with a lasting impact on both people and the natural world we live.
