The Kansas Advanced Immersive Research for Emergent Systems (K-AIRES) Center is a transformative project aimed at positioning K-State Salina as a leader in aerospace innovation, research, and training.

This state-of-the-art 50,000 square-foot facility, developed in partnership with Pure Imagination Studios and the Salina Airport Authority, will provide cutting-edge simulation and AI capabilities, bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The K-AIRES Center will serve as a hub, bringing together researchers, scientists, and technologists across fields. Equipped with high-definition displays, motion platforms, AR/VR labs, and haptic technology, this center will offer extensive immersive training opportunities, fostering new aerospace innovations while preparing students for real-world challenges.

Our team is creating an “innovation district” that promotes collaboration across all aerospace programs. This initiative includes the development of a new visual identity for K-State Salina, aligning it with advanced technologies and industry-connected programming. By enhancing campus connectivity and pedestrian-friendly spaces, the K-AIRES Center aims to elevate K-State Salina’s identity and create a vibrant community centered on innovation and research.

As the first facility in this emerging district, the K-AIRES Center is poised to set a new precedent for industry-led innovation in higher education, soon to be complemented by the new Aerospace Education Hub. Together, these developments will transform the educational landscape and drive economic growth in Kansas and beyond.
