A renovation of Allen Fieldhouse demanded more than just updates—it required a design that immerses visitors in the storied history of Kansas Basketball. Every element, from environmental graphics to interactive touchpoints, was crafted to honor tradition while enhancing the fan experience, circulation, and amenities within this legendary arena.

By blending color, environmental graphics, and interior design, the team transformed the space into an experience that celebrates KU’s traditions while enhancing wayfinding, circulation, and amenities.

Designing for Legacy and Engagement

More than just a renovation, this project reimagined how fans interact with KU’s basketball heritage. Thoughtful updates include an intuitive wayfinding system, improved circulation routes, and expanded gathering spaces—all designed to enhance the game-day and visitor experience. Interactive touch points invite fans to engage with the Jayhawk legacy, connecting past and present through immersive design.

Blending History with Modern Innovation

Every detail within Allen Fieldhouse was meticulously curated to evoke the spirit of KU Basketball. The design incorporates:

A Lasting Tribute to Jayhawk Excellence

Carefully selected historical artifacts, interactive exhibits, and bold environmental graphics create moments of discovery throughout the space. The renovation doesn’t just preserve history—it amplifies it, ensuring that every visitor, whether a lifelong fan or a first-time guest, leaves with a deeper connection to KU’s basketball legacy.

Through this transformative design, Allen Fieldhouse remains not just an arena, but a living monument to the Jayhawks' enduring spirit.
