The Lawrence High School renovation and addition encompasses 288,000 square feet of renovation and a 27,000 square foot expansion, designed to meet the evolving needs of students and educators through thoughtful, responsive spaces.

To ensure that the new design reflects the voices of its users, Multistudio conducted extensive surveys with teachers and students, gathering valuable insights into the facilities and spaces that would best support contemporary teaching methodologies.

The revitalized high school will bring Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Real World Learning programs to the center of the campus, fostering collaboration and engagement. Enhanced shared spaces will incorporate digital media, gallery areas, and flexible rooms for diverse group sizes, creating an environment conducive to interdisciplinary work that surpasses traditional classroom limitations.

In addition to promoting collaboration and innovative programming, the renovation prioritizes student wellness and physical health. A new wellness commons connects health programs, from dance studios to weight rooms, while visually reinforcing the importance of well-being.

Through this project, Lawrence High School will emerge as a forward-thinking educational facility, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and health for the next generation of learners.

“It’s amazing. They took a nearly 70-year-old building and breathed life into it.”
